I have three buddha statues sitting in my office, and I often get asked who it is. The statue is of Hotei, a Japanese buddha statue that represents good fortune and health. He is said to have been an actual person, who would bring toys and food to children (much like Santa Claus!). Below is a link explaining him in more detail:
I have an affinity for taking things that are necessary and trying to get them as small and portable as possible. This way, I have everything I need at hand. I will post my video on my daypack soon, which discusses how to pack to travel light for yourself AND a child.
Anyway, I keep my wallet pretty minimal. I carry it in my front pocket to keep from being pickpocketed (I had someone try it once, but they didn’t get anything since my wallet doesn’t sit back there), so it has to be small, comfortable, and carry all that I need.
But I realized recently that I needed something to carry business cards, and wanted to always have a pen handy to jot down notes. I have found business cards to be very handy for note-taking, but didn’t want to carry around a wallet AND a business card holder AND a pen all separately.
Well, I found a wallet that fit my needs. It is a bi-fold that holds all of my credit cards, licenses, and money with a phone holder that keeps my business cards and a Mini G2 pen.
The great part is that the wallet was inexpensive, and was widely available at Target. The problem… it’s a woman’s wallet. Fortunately, it comes in black, and you can’t tell. I would feel worse about this if it wasn’t the fact that every men’s wallet out there was the exact same and had no additional functionality other than to carry some money and credit cards.
