When to Multitask [Productivity]
Posted: August 30th, 2008 | Author: Travis Hill @ RightThought.net | Filed under: Uncategorized | Comments OffIn a previous post, I discussed why social multitasking is bad for you. Multitasking itself is not a bad thing, but when you do it is very important. This WebMD article discusses when we should multitask.
1) Don’t multitask when you’re learning something new.
2) When you do multitask, make sure those tasks are very different.
3) Focus on the most important part of those tasks, rather than all parts.
4) It is better to have one of those tasks be one which is habitual for you, so you can focus on another task without giving the first one much thought.
